Don't you just want to hug this little muffin???
Well, forget about it because he's not about to let you hug him. As a matter of fact, don't even think about hugging someone else either because he hates that too. That's right: Bruce Wayne is the dog who hates hugs.
Don't get me wrong, he loves snuggling...
...and he gives great kisses...
...but when it comes to hugs, he'll do just about anything to get away. He doesn't even mind being handled for baths, nail trims, or having his paws wiped. He just can't stand being hugged. Maybe he just thinks it's a fun game to play keep-away with his affections. Or maybe he associates them with his least favorite thing of all: saying goodbye. If M and I even try to hug each other he will whine and jump up and throw a fit. If he had it his way, mom would never leave the house and he could snuggle with her whenever he wished. I guess that's what you get when you work from home and spoil your kids rotten!
Note to self: next time you get a puppy, try to resist it's
snuggling charms for AT LEAST 1 hour a day.
Ha! What a character...and those ears are just too cute. Zoe doesn't like it when K and I hug if she can't be involved in it too. She will try to insert herself in between us!
ReplyDeleteHurley hated hugs too. But I've broken him down and now he at least tolerates them. So long as I hug him from the back and not from the front. He's still a little "get out of my face, lady"-ish with full frontal hugs. Good thing he's ginormous and I just need to bend over a little to give him his daily embrace!
ReplyDeleteMy spouse's old family dog Spunky (RIP) hated when we hugged. He would bark loudly, as if to say "Why am I not getting attention? This is unfair!"
ReplyDeleteBut he looks SO huggable! That baby picture with those ears made me melt
ReplyDeleteI know, right?!? Those ears are the destroyer of will power.
DeleteBruce is too cute, the ears put him over the top! Maggie doesn't like hugs either, but she follows me everywhere, including the bathroom, yay. Duke loves to cuddle and hug, he has the same expression as Bruce in the 2nd picture right now.
ReplyDeleteIt took us practically a year for us to get Hades to enjoy cuddling! He loved kisses and attention but would go totally stiff if you tried to cuddle him. I swear once he saw how much his sister loved cuddling he realized it wasn't bad. Maybe you should just constantly hug Alfred in front of him. ;)
ReplyDeleteBruce gets all fussy when I hug ANYONE: including Alfred. He also doesn't like when I hold babies or puppies....who knows?
DeleteI would have a real hard time NOT hugging him! He just screams for hugs. How about a little squeeze?
